A panic attack is one of the most unpleasant experiences that someone can live through, at least from a psychological point of view. Suddenly, you start feeling a deep unease, throbbing, sweating, dizziness, nausea, unrest, chest pain, even thoughts of dying on the spot. Besides, it’s very difficult to know when it’s going to happen again: it could be in a shopping centre, in the cinema, in a restaurant, at some friend’s house, in the street, anywhere. Logically, people who suffer a panic attack immediately go to emergencies to know what’s happening. They are usually told that what they experienced is a panic attack or anxiety crisis, presenting no other medical issues, and they are adviced to go to a psychologist. And that’s the best thing they could do, because people who go to therapy will start identifying what triggers their attacks, what thoughts are related to them happening, and how to manage the anticipations about an uncertain future.
